About Eve Borg Bonello
Dedication. Passion. Combatting climate change. Safeguarding our nation's future.
I am Eve Borg Bonello, a passionate Maltese activist and politician, born on May 9, 2003. People remember me during the 2019-2020 Maltese protests for my vocal opposition to former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and the corruption scandals that triggered a political crisis that eventually led to Muscat's resignation.

Who am I?
I am Eve Borg Bonello, a passionate Maltese activist and politician, born on May 9, 2003. People remember me during the 2019-2020 Maltese protests for my vocal opposition to former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and the corruption scandals that triggered a political crisis that eventually led to Muscat's resignation. In April 2022, I made history by becoming the youngest Member of Parliament ever elected to the Maltese House of Representatives.
My involvement in politics started from a passion for the Rule of Law, particularly when investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia was assassinated in 2017 and Malta faced unprecedented protests in 2019's constitutional crisis. My political journey began as an activist, advocating for good governance, the rule of law, and democracy.
I gained recognition after reciting a poignant poem at a vigil for the assassinated journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia. The turning point in my activism came during the 2019-2020 protests when my impassioned speech, accusing Prime Minister Muscat of stealing my generation's future, garnered widespread attention and even death threats. Despite the challenges, I continued to speak out and later transitioned into formal politics.
I am currently reading for a Degree in Law and have advanced to the 4th year of the L.L.B. (Hons.) course. I represent the 9th and 10th Districts, serving constituents across areas including Ħal Għargħur, L-Imsida, San Ġwann, Is-Swieqi, Ta' Xbiex, Il-Gżira, In-Naxxar, San Ġiljan, and Tas-Sliema.
My Journey
Daphne Caruana Galizia Protest
December 2019
I participated and organized protests as an activist within civil society. In 2019, I mobilized a crowd of students to commemorate the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
Team Start PN
May 2020
In 2020 I was elected President of Team Start PN, the youth wing catered to 14-18 year olds. As President, I also sat on the executive committee and the General Council of Partit Nazzjonalista.
General Election
April 2022
In April 2022, I was elected as a Member of Parliament in the 2022 Maltese General Election, becoming the youngest member ever elected to the Maltese House of Representatives in the country's constitutional history. I am the world's youngest sitting member in a national legislature.
Being your voice
Today
I constantly strive to be a voice for those without one, to represent citizens of goodwill in our Nation's highest institution. My job is to represent you, hence that's the basis of my style of politics.
Areas of Focus
Climate Change
Malta's future, like much of the world's, depends on mitigating climate change. Yet it is only a part of what it takes to safeguard our nation's future. We need effective action made possible through a dedication and passion to reduce our carbon footprint and ensure a sustainable future for ourselves and for generations to come.
Youth Involvement
Our country's youth are not only the future but the present. It's fundamental that they have a say in the Malta they're inheriting, to have a say in building a Malta we could be proud of.
Good Governance
The sustainable development goals are the UN's blueprint of an ideal future, with one of the hallmarks being 'Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions'. We simply can't have a green and equitable future without good governance.
The Rule of Law
My involvement in politics started from a passion for the Rule of Law, particularly when investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia was assassinated in 2017 and Malta faced unprecedented protests in 2019's constitutional crisis.
Democracy
Democracy isn't static and is never guaranteed and for that reason we must protect it and fight for it everyday. Dictatorships do not happen overnight through a singular coup d'état, but democracies are very much eroded slowly by criminals posing as politicians together with special interests.
Community
My job is to represent you, hence that's the basis of my style of politics. My goal is to be hands-on and a call away to give you the voice you deserve. Please do not shy away from reaching out.
Vision for Malta's Future
"I envision a Malta where environmental sustainability, transparent governance, and youth empowerment are not just ideals, but the foundation of our society. Together, we can build a country that our children will be proud to call home."
